I started playing drums at the age of 9 years after receiving a kids kit from my grandad one Christmas. He used to play in a band as a drummer in the 40's and 50's so there was plenty of encouragement.
after leaving music collage I moved to London working as a drum tech.
I landed a gig with a rock band signing a deal with lamb music. After a few singles and a lot of gigs the band split, I was head hunted by an American band and found myself heading state side to play with them based in NY.
Whilst living in New York I studied at one of the best drum schools the Drummers collective development my love for jazz funk and soul.
Gigging, recording in NY was a real learning curve. After returning to the UK I ended up working as a dep drummer for bands working with many record labels.
I found a niche playing funk and soul music, which eventually led me back to the northwest.
and after responding an add in the music press in to the black and gold family.
